Karl Overman: Birds and More

When found on December 18, 2010 on the Monroe Christmas Count, the Michigan bird below was a first for Michigan Christmas Counts.  As Peter Kaestner and I arrived on the icy shores of Lake Erie at the Erie power plant on December 27th,  we had this pelican fly in.  It then proceeded to steam, through the steam actually, toward us and a camouflaged photographer nearby leading me to suspect that it had been getting fed by someone recently.
