Karl Overman: Birds and More
Checking a suburban Detroit park in late November I noticed a very odd chickadee--a “Brown-capped” Chickadee. Even the back was brownish. But no, it was not a sign of an every 50 year invasion of Boreal Chickadee (Binford’s insight that we are due for since the last was 1972) but just a very aberrantly plumaged Black-capped Chickadee.
