Karl Overman: Birds and More

The Ohio immature bird showed up at a feeder in the Oak Harbor area.  How word gets out to birders is an evolving process as it has been for decades. Telephone calls of 40 years ago gave way to telephone hotlines which in turn gave way to internet postings.  This bird’s heralding is a derivative of the internet--found on ebird with directions found on Facebook.  As someone not using Facebook I am not a big fan of this competitive source of birding information but that is the reality.  I went with James Fox and this was a life bird for James.
